CHARLES THOMAS9 MAXFIELD (Hiram8, probably John7, perhaps Daniel6, probably Daniel5,4, Ebenezer3, Samuel2, Clement1), was born in Warren, Rhode Island, 15 April, 1861 (VR RI B 1861:22), a child of Hiram Drowne Maxfield and his second wife Eliza. His birth was recorded as follows:
Warren: Apr 15, 1861, Charles Thomas Maxfield, male, white, b. Warren, 1st child, to Hiram D. and Eliza K. Maxfield (E. K. Phinney) of Warren (ages 38-25); he sheriff b. Bristol; she b. Warren
Charles T. Maxfield married LULU L. WAITE in Swansea, Massachusetts, on 25 October, 1882 (VR FR(H) 1882:9:129:475) . The event was recorded in the Fall River, Massachusetts, vital records as follows:
Oct 24, 1882 Swansea:
Charles I. Maxfield of Providence, 22, 1st, steward, b. Warren, RI to Hiram D. and Eliza K.;
Lula L. Waite of Fall River, 20, 1st, b. Tiverton to John and Mary P.;
by J. W. Osborn, clergy of Swansea.
According to the record kept in the state archives in Boston, the date was 25 October, the groom's middle initial was "F.", his age was 27, his mother was Eliza D., the bride's mother was Mary B., and J. W. Osborn was pastor of the Christian Church (VR Ma 334:168:7). By either version of the record, Lulu Waite was born in Tiverton, Rhode Island, about 1861/2.

Charles T. Maxfield was called a steward in 1882 when married, and keeper of Oakland Beach, in Warwick, Rhode Island, when their daughter was born.

Lulu Maxfield was reported in the 1900 census at 3035 North Main Street, Fall River, Bristol County, in the home of her father, John B. Waite, as follows:

It is not known why Charles was not mentioned. He died on 23 April 1909, as reported in the Boston Globe (His P):

Charles Maxfield Dead
Providence, April 23--Charles Maxfield, a native of Warren and a veteran in the shore resort business, died at the state hospital today after a lingering illness. He is survived by a wife and one daughter
Lulu Maxfield was reported in the 1920 census (684:7A) at 3435 North Main Street, Fall River, living with her mother, Mary R. Waite. Lulu and her mother were both widows, Lulu age 57, her mother age 80. Lulu worked as a clerk in a grocery store.

Charles T. Maxfield and his wife Lulu had the following child.
