Ellery S. Maxfield married HARRIET N. BURLINGAME, who was born in New York in February 1853 (1900 census).

The 1880 census reported Ellery and Harriet Maxfield living at Albany Township, Whiteside County, Illinois, with sons Franklin and Orrin.
