GIFFORD DAVIDGE9 MAXFIELD (John8-7, perhaps Daniel6, probably Daniel5,4, Ebenezer3, Samuel2, Clement1) was born in Illinois on September 1873 (1900 census), a child of John H. Maxfield and his second wife Mary Gregory.

Gifford Maxfield married MAUDE ESTELLA SCOTT at Whiteside County, Illinois, on 2 October 1895 (IL M). Maude was born in Illinois on September 1876 (1900 census).

The 1900 census (157:150:2:77), reported Gifford (born September 1873 Illinois) and Maud (born September 1876 Illinois) living at Lyndon Township, Whiteside County. They had a daughter, Ruth M. Maxfield, born at Illinois in Gebruary 1899.

Maud Maxfield died on 22 December 1900 (AWT). Gifford Maxfield married NETA BOUCH at Stephenson County, Illinois, on 26 December 1901 (IL M). She was born in Illinois on 27 March 1883 (SSDI; CA D).

The 1920 census (414:9B) reported Gifford Maxfield's new family at the village of Lyndon in Lyndon Township:

The 1930 census (566:5A) reported Gifford, Nesta (or Nita) and Anna still living at Lyndon Township. The children were all gone. Gifford worked as a patrolman on the state highway, his wife and mother-in-law had no occupation.

Gifford Maxfield died at James Lamb, Clinton County, Iowa, on 12 October 1940 (AWT). Neta died at Los Angeles County, California, on 25 May 1970 (SSDI, CA D)
