HENRY4 MAXFIELD (Samuel3, John2-1) was born at Salisbuty, Essex County, Massachusetts, on 17 February 1743/4[1] a son of Samuel Maxfield and his wife Jemima Eaton. He died after the conception of his last child, 1772, and before the death of his wife, 1781, who at death was called a widow. He married at Haverhill, Essex County, Massachusetts, on 20 August 1765 HANNAH BOATMAN.[2] She died at Salisbury on February 1781.[3]
When Henry was nine years old, on 16 September 1753, he and his four younger siblings were baptized at Second Church (Congreegational), Salisbury.[4]
Henry Maxfield fought in the French and Indian War, serving at two times. He served most of 1760, from 29 February to 4 December, under Capt. Joseph Smith of Rowley. Then from 11 May 1761 to 6 January 1762 he was a Private in Capt. Henry Young Brown's company.[5]
Samual Maxfield and Hannah Boatman married at First Parish Church (Congregational) of Haverhill, on 20 August 1765. They lived at Salisbury, where they had four children, all girls, from 1767 to 1772. At least one child died in infancy. No further record of the children has been found. Widow Hannah (Boatman) Maxfield died at Salisbury on February 1781.
