Descendants of John Maxfield
of Salisbury, Massachusetts

BENJAMIN FRENCH MAXFIELD (John4, Michael3, John2-1) was born at Chichester, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, on 15 July 1791[1] a son of John N. Maxfield and his wife Rhoda French. He died on 12 April 1816.[2] He married at Chichester on 10 February 1814 MARTHA LAKE.[3] She was born at Chichester on 3 November 1795[4] and was sometimes called "Patty." After the death of her first husband she married at Epsom, Rockingham County, on 6 May 1917 JACOB HOWE.[5]

Benjamin French Maxfield's life was short: married at age 22, deceased at age 24. Son Benjamin's life was even shorter: his father died before his first birthday, his mother remarried when he was one year old, he died at the age of four. Father and son are buried at the Perkins-Maxfield Cemetery on Pleasant Street, Chichester.

Benjamin French Maxfield and his wife Martha Lake had the following child:

  1. BENJAMIN LAKE6 MAXFIELD b. at Chichester on 14 October 1815;[6] d. at Chichester on 12 July 1820.[7]
