Frank Maxfield and MARY T. LAPHAM were married at New Bedford on 20 June 1878 (VR Ma 298:116:110). Mary was born at New Bedford, according to her marriage record, on 19 September 1861, according to her age in her cemetery record. Her parents were Thomas and Oliva Lapham. The marriage was recorded as follows:

Frank Maxfield worked for his father's furniture business. He was called a foreman for Caleb Maxfield on his marriage record in 1878, a cabinet maker on his child's birth record in 1879. The Springfield, Massachusetts, City Directories for 1890 and 1891 reported him to be an employee of C. E. Maxfield in Springfield, living at 73 Dartmouth Street, Springfield.
The 1880 Census (525:160D) reported this family in New Bedford, consisting of Frank Maxfield, a 30 year old furniture dealer, his wife Minnie, age 19, and their daughter Annie L. Maxfield, age 1.

Frank and Mary had been married twenty years, and Mary had one child, who was living. Thomas and Jane Lapham had been married only four years, and she had no children.
The 1910 census (603:2A) found Frank and Mary Maxfield at 805 Commonwealth Avenue, Newton, Massachusetts. Frank H., 54, was described as having his "own income." Mary T. Maxfield was 47. Daughter Ann M. Morris, 30, was in the household, along with her husband, Ralph D. Morris, 29, and their child Caleb M. Morris, six months old. Ann and Ralph had been married six years; Ralph was a wholesale buyer of steam pumps. Frank's brother-in-law Thomas Lapham, Junior, 29, a retail salesman of "gents furnishings," was also in the household. Frank's sister-in-law, Sophy L. Ellis, 34, and her husband, George W. Ellis, 32, also lived with them. They had been married seven years, had no children, and George was a civil engineer working on buildings. One additional member of this household was "aunt-in-law" Martha I. Church, age 60.

Franklin Maxfield died at Milton, Massachusetts, on 14 July 1924, age 70 years and 4 months (Oak Gr Cem H-5). He was buried at Oak Grove Cemetery, New Bedford on 17 July 1924 (Oak Gr Cem H-5). Mary Maxfield died at Brush Hill Rd, Milton, on 8 June 1926, age 64years, 8 months, and 19days (Oak Gr Cem H-5). She was buried at Oak Grove Cemetery, New Bedford, on 11 June 1926 (Oak Gr Cem H-5).
