JAMES K. POLK7 MAXFIELD was born at Vermont on 17 January 1846 a son of Stephen Maxfield and his wife Lovica Polk. He died on 11 April 1936. He married at Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, on 7 June 1867 MELISSA AMIS. She was born at Vermont on February 1849.

James K. P. Maxfield and his wife Melissa Amis had the following children:

  1. EDGAR L.8 MAXFIELD b. at Oak Center, Fond du Lac Co., abt. 1868; d. on 1941; m. at Butternut, Ashland Co., WI, on 1 August 1907 JENNIE MURPHY.
  2. DAVID8 MAXFIELD b. at Wisconsin on 16 December 1870; d. on 12 January 1888.
  3. LOUISA GAY8 MAXFIELD b. at Wisconsin on January 1873; m. at Oakfield, Fond du Lac Co., on 10 July 1907 WINNIE WILMOT BALL.
  4. CLARA8 MAXFIELD b. at Oakfield on 2 December 1886; d. on 1920; m. on 4 June 1919 ORIE RUFUS POWERS.
  5. RUTH INA8 MAXFIELD b. at Oakfield on 10 September 1891; d. at Oakfield on 13 January 1907.
