Seventh Generation
OREN7 MAXFIELD (Oren6, Eliphalet5, Nathaniel4, Eliphalet3, Nathaniel2, John1), son of Oren Maxfield and his wife Chloe Dexter, was born at Kennebec County, Maine, on 11 August 1834 (NMGR 7:88). When Oren was one year old, his family moved to Illinois, and he grew up in Stark County, Illinois.
Oren Maxfield fought in the Civil War. He enlisted in May 1864 and served in Company H of the Illinois 139th Regiment of Infantry (NMGR 7:88).
CYNTHIA CORNELIA STONE married Oren Maxfield at Stark County on 25 June 1866 (IL M). A daughter of Daniel D. and Sarah Louise (Morgan) Stone, Cynthis was born at Litchfield County, Connecticut, on 18 November 1843 (NMGR 7:88).

Mrs. Cynthia Stone Maxfield married JOHN CARPENTER at Stark County on 12 January 1888 (IL M). As Oren was still living, he and Cynthia must have been divorced.
Cynthia, Oren's wife, died at Galva, Illinois, on 7 June 1891 (NMGR 7:88).
At the time of the 1900 Census (198:163:5:86 soundex) Oren was a patient at the Weaton Hospital for the Insane, at Hampton Township, Rock Island County, Illinois. Oren Maxfield died at Watertown, Illinois, on 7 August 1904 (NMGR 7:88).
