Rouse was living in Taberg in 1875 (Morgan). Rouse Maxfield of Taberg was a teacher, county clerk, and pension attorney (Morgan).

Rouse Maxfield died at Prospect Village on 29 January 1914 (VR NY).

The 1930 census (1621:2B) reported the same three persons at the same location. It is not clear if her son-in-law was "Orange" or "Grange" Cowles. He was proprietor of a retail furniture store.
