WALTER B.7 MAXFIELD (Josiah6, Jacob5, Eliphalet4-3, Nathaniel2, John1) was born at Parkman, Piscataquis County, Maine, on 28 October 1865 (VR Me), a child of Josiah Maxfield and his second wife, Mary. The 1880 Census (487:11D) reported Walter Maxfield, age 14, living in the household of John and Myra Richardson, working on a farm. The 1900 census (587:1:149) reported Walter Maxfield at Durham, Androscoggin County, Maine, a farmer.

Walter B. Maxfield married LILLIAN M. SARGENT at Maine on 28 October 1903 (Me M). They both lived at Durham.

The 1910 census (536:1:174B) reported Walter, 46, Lillian, 33, and son Arthur Maxfield, 6, at Durham. Walter was a farmer. According to this record, this was the second marriage for both, they had been married five years, and Lillian had four children, all living.

The 1920 census (637:7B) reported Walter and Arthur Maxfield, father and son, ages 56 and 16, farming at Wires Hill Road, Durham. Walter was divorced.

The 1930 census (827:) reported Walter Maxfield, 65, son Arthur, 25, and brother Earnest P., 57, living together at Durham. Walter was a farmer, Arthur a farm laborer, and Earnest a foreman at a canning factory. Walter was reported a widower, Arthur and Earnest single.

Walter B. Maxfield and his wife Lillian B. Sargent had the following child:
