SYLVANUS HAYDEN⁸ MAXFIELD was born at Merrill, Clinton County, New York, on 3 March 1867 a son of Sylvanus Maxfield and his second wife Margaret Cochrane. He died at Merrimack, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, on 10 December 1928. He married at Nashua, Hillsborough County, on 26 May 1901 MILLIE (DOTY) HOBART. She was born at New York on 30 March 1873 and died at Nashua on 2 July 1949. She had previously married about 1890/1 HENRY N. HOBART.

Sylvanus Hayden Maxfield and his wife Millie Doty had the following child:
