Kate "Kitty" Patterson was born at Canaan, New Hampshire (marriage record), Northfield, Vermont (child's birth record), or Roxbury , Vermont (death record) about December, 1871 (death record), a child of Thomas and Hester Patterson. Arthur Maxfield was a farmer, according to this marriage record, and their child's birth record.

Kitty Maxfield died at Springfield on 17 April 1895 (VR NH D):

Arthur Maxfield married as his second wife HATTIE L. PAGE. They published their intentions to marry at Springfield on 4 January 1896 (VR NH M), and were married there the next day (VR NH M). This marriage was reported as follows:

Arthur and Hattie were divorced within two years of their marriage, as Hattie Maxfield remarried, at Franklin, New Hampshire, on 10 February 1898 to CLAUDE D. BOHONON (VR NH Br). They were both from Franklin at the time.

Arthur Maxfield died at Springfield on 23 April 1899 (VR NH D):
