WAYNE10 MAXFIELD (John9, Franklin8, David7, Nathaniel6, Eliphalet5, Nathaniel4, Eliphalet3, Nathaniel2, John1) was born at Kansas on 31 March 1920 (SSDI), a child of John Frank and Margaret Maxfield.

Wayne Maxfield married LELA ELIZABETH LORD some time before he enlisted in the military. Leila was born on 10 June 1920 (SSDI).

Wayne Maxfield enlisted in the military at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, on 5 October 1943. He indicated at that time he was born at Kansas in 1920, lived at Wyandotte County, Kansas, had completed one year of High School, and was married (WWII Enl).

Wayne Maxfield died on 10 October 1988 (SSDI). Lela died at Wichita, Kansas, on 1 February 1999 (SSDI). Her obituary in the Kansas City Star, read as follows (KC Star 3 Feb 1999):

LELA ELIZABETH (LORD) MAXFIELD
Lela Elizabeth (Lord) Maxfield, 78, Wichita, KS (formerly of Kansas City, KS), passed away February 1, 1999. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, February 4, at Cochran Funeral Home, Wichita. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice, Inc. of Wichita.
Mrs. Maxfield was preceded by her husband, Wayne. She is survived by a son & daughter-in-law, Terry & Peggy Maxfield, Emporia, KS; a daughter & son-in-law, Sharon & John Minor, Wichita, KS; two brothers, Al Lord, Overland Park, KS, and Sam Lord, Kansas City, MO; two sisters, Edith Hensley, Warrensburg, MO, and Betty Gaisser, Crown Point, IN; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.--obit
