Ernest Maxfield, 81, of Emmett, died Thursday, Nov 12, 1998, at a Boise hospital of a heart attack.
Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16, at the Emmett LDS Downtown Chapel, by Bishop Doug Honn. Burial will follow at Cloverdale Memorial Park, Boise. . . .
Ernest was born Dec. 21, 1916, on the Camas Prairie at Hill City, Idaho, one of six children of Mary Elsie Harrison and Lincoln Cornelius Maxfield. Ernest spent most of his adult life in Emmett. He served eight years in the U.S. Navy and was a World War II veteran.
He married Shirley Fresh on July 28, 1942 at New York City. They had two children, Garold of Meridian, and Dianne Pierson of Hyrum, Utah.
Ernest was an active member of the LDS Church, and has served as temple worker for many years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years; two children; two sisters, Loree Carmichael and Aileen Smallwood; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Harold, and a sister, Betty Kimball.
