Descendants of Clement Maxfield
of Dorchester, Massachusetts
Fourth Generation

DANIEL4 MAXFIELD (Ebenezer3, Samuel2, Clement1) , son of Ebenezer Maxfield and his wife Ann, was born at Bristol, Massachusetts, on 8 September 1712 (VR RI 6:1:90). Daniel Maxfield and MARY WARDWELL published their intentions to marry at Bristol on 27 May 1732 (VR RI 6:1:35). They were married there on 11 June 1732 (VR RI 6:1:35). Rev. Mr. John Usher performed the service.

Daniel died at Bristol on 27 February 1740 (VR RI 6:1:147).

Mary Maxfield and JABEZ GORHAM published their intentions to marry at Bristol on 30 March 1744 (VR RI 6:1:36). They married there on 31 July 1744, at Saint Michael's Church (Bristol Settlers 92). Jabez Gorham, born 31 January 1684, had previously married Leah, who died on 13 May 1739. She was probably Leah Littlefield, born at Wells, Maine, on 16 September 1687. Jabez died sixteen months after his second marriage, on 21 November 1745 (GR 54:169).

Mrs. Mary Gorham married STEPHEN SMITH on 13 October 1763 (GR 54:169).

Daniel and Mary Maxfield had the following children:

  3. CATHERINE5 MAXFIELD
