of Dorchester, Massachusetts
Fifth Generation

DANIEL5 MAXFIELD (Daniel4, Ebenezer3, Samuel2, Clement1) , son of Daniel Maxfield and his wife Mary Wardwell, was born at Bristol, Massachusetts, on 6 March 1732/3 (VR RI 6:1:90). He married MARY WILSON at Bristol, [now] Rhode Island, on 14 December 1755 (VR RI 6:1:36). She was born about 1733/4 based on her age at death. She died a widow at Bristol on 7 February 1809, age 75 years (VR RI 6:1:147).

The Rhode Island census of 1774 gave the following report on the Daniel Maxfield household of Bristol, Rhode Island (RI C 1774:181)

The Rhode Island Census of 1782 gave the following information for the household of Daniel Maxfield of Bristol:

The two persons over 22 were the parents. One of the children under 16 could have been a son Daniel. The identity of the other six persons has not been determined.

The 1790 census (10:11) reported a Daniel Maxfield household of 2 males over 16 and 2 females. Perhaps this represented Daniel and Mary, one of their sons, and his wife.

Bristol Vital Records did not record the births of the children of Daniel and Mary (Wilson) Maxfield. However they did record some other vital records of persons who, based on their age, could be their children.

Possible children of Daniel and Mary:

  1. probably DAVID6 MAXFIELD b. abt 1755/6
  2. probably DANIEL6 MAXFIELD b. abt. 1766/7
