JAMES9 MAXFIELD III (James8-7, Daniel6, probably Daniel5-4, Ebenezer3, Samuel2, Clement1) was born at Barrington, Rhode Island (from marriage record), on 2 February, 1853 (RI Cem), a child of James Maxfield and his wife Jane Foster.

CARRIE E. CHILDS married James Maxfield at Swansea, Massachusetts, on 17 March 1887 (VR Ma 379:181:5). The event was recorded as follows:

Carrie Childs was born at Warren, Rhode Island, in February 1863 (1900 census), to Charles E. and Emily Childs.

James Maxfield was a jeweler, in Barrington, according to his marriage record (1887) the birth record of a child (1888), and census records for 1900 and 1920.

James Maxfield died in 1928 (RI Cem).

The 1930 census (2168:1A) reported Carrie E. Maxfield and her unmarried daughter Annie W. Maxfield living at 101 Bounty Road, Barrington. Annie was a stenographer for an insurance company.

Carrie Maxfield died in 1942 (RI Cem). James and Carrie were both buried in Prince's Hill Burial Ground, Barrington.
