WILLIAM HENRY9 MAXFIELD (Nathaniel8, John7, perhaps Daniel6, probably Daniel5,4, Ebenezer3, Samuel2, Clement1) was born in Rhode Island in October, 1841 (1900 Census Ill; 1840/1 in 1850 Census RI). His parents were Nathaniel Drown Maxfield and his wife Susan Sherman (DAR 29:344). William had moved to Illinois before 1864.

JANE McELLRATH married William H. Maxfield at Whiteside County, Illinois, on 4 July 1864 (Ill M). Jane was born in Ireland in April 1844, acording to the 1900 Census. She came to America in 1856 (1900 census) or 1860 (1920 census).

The 1870 census (290:1:216A) reported this family at Mount Pleasant Township (Morrison Post Office), Whiteside County:

The record also indicated that William and Jenny had been married 35 years, Jenny had three children, all living, and came to America in 1856.

The 1910 census (331:2:71B) reported William and Jennie, ages 68 and 65, at 409 East Wall Street, Morrison.

William H. Maxfield died before 1920, when widow Jane Maxfield was living with her son William at Mason City, Iowa.
