PLEASANT WARNER9 MAXFIELD (Albert8, John7, perhaps Daniel6, probably Daniel5,4, Ebenezer3, Samuel2, Clement1) was born in Illinois on December 1865 (1900 census), a child of Albert Maxfield and his wife Juliet Sherman.

Pleasant W. Maxfield was reported twice in the 1880 census: with his parents, and (258:109A) as P. W. Maxfield, working on the farm of Joseph C. and Fannie Reeves, at Hahnaman, Whiteside County, Illinois.

Pleasant Maxfield married BRIDGET ETHEL BURKE at Whiteside County, on 30 April 1895 (IL M). Bridget was born in Illinois on March 1871 (1900 census).

The 1900 census (soundex 157:160:7:8) reported P. W. Maxfield and his wife B. Maxfield in Tampico Township, Whiteside County, with the birth months and states indicated above. They had a daughter, Maurisse, born in Illinois in June 1896. The 1920 census (414:5B) found this couple in Prophetstown Township, Whiteside County:

Pleasant Maxfield died at Prophetstown on 3 July 1925 (IL D). Bridget Ethel Maxfield died at Sterling, Whiteside county, on 6 June 1948 (IL D)

        MAURINE (MAXFIELD) VAN DeMARK - Funeral services will be Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Monday at Saint Catherine's Catholic Church, Prophetstown, with the Rev. Fr. Dan Peters, officiating. Burial will be at Saint Catheerine's Riverside Cemetery, Prophetstown. Visitation will be from 2-4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Gardner Funeral home, Prophetstown, with a 4:30 p.m. Rosary. A memorial has been established. Mrs. VanDeMark was born June 5, 1896, in Tampico, the daughter of Pleasant and Bridget (Burke) Maxfied. She was a Tampico High School graduate. She married F. Vernon VanDeMark on Oct. 14, 1919. He died Oct. 6, 1974. She was employed at the former Federated Store, Prophetstown, and Rikes Department Store, Dayton, Ohio. She was a member of Saint Catherine's Catholic Church, Prophetstown, and the church's Altar and Rosary Society. Survivors include one son, Allan (Rita) VanDeMark of Prophetstown; one daughter-in-law, Marjorie VanDeMark of Des Plaines; three grandchildren, Jon Douglas (Lori) VanDeMark of Geneva, Carol (Tim) Hillary of Kalamazoo, Mich., and Becky (Bill) Eckert of Centerview, Mo.; and six great grandchildren.
