GEORGE LEMUEL7 MAXFIELD was born at Chichester, New Hampshire, on 7 April 1846 a son of Daniel Philbrick Maxfield and his wife Dorothy Ring. He died at Jamul, San Diego County, California, on 9 September 1922. He married before 1870 (married in the census) CLARA B. BERGSTROM. She was born at Bergen, Norway (then part of Sweden) on 19 July 1851 and died on 26 July 1929.

George Lemuel Maxfield and his wife Clara Bergstrom had the following children:

  1. DANIEL EDWIN8 MAXFIELD b. at San Francisco, California, on 8 March 1874; m. about 1905/6 MARY ________. Daniel and Mary adopted a daughter, Pilani before 1930; she was born at Hawaii about 1912/3.
  2. JOHN ARTHUR8 MAXFIELD b. at San Francisco on 1 October 1876.
  3. CLARA8 MAXFIELD b. at California on 15 January 1879; d. at San Diego County, California, on 25 May 1944; m. ________ BROWN.
  4. GEORGE H.8 MAXFIELD b. at San Diego on 30 July 1882.
