ORREN GREGG7 MAXFIELD (Albert6, Obadiah5, David4, Eliphalet3, Nathaniel2, John1) was born at Clinton County, New York on 3 June 1843 (Maplewood Cem), a child of Albert and Eunice Maxfield. Orren moved to Michigan with his family some time between 1846 and 1850, when the census reported them at Tallmadge Township, Ottawa County, Michigan.

Orren Maxfield enlisted in the army in 1862, and served for the duration of the Civil War (Civ War Sold):

Gregg Maxfield was living with his parents at Lamont, Tallmadge Township, at the time of the 1870 census, when he was described as a "boat engineer." He married ELZORA RUDD at Eastmanville, Ottawa County, on 11 June 1870 (MI M). Elzora was born at Pennsylvania on 30 March 1849 (Maplewood Cem).

The O. Gregg Maxfield family was reported in the 1880 census (600:266D) at Coopersville, Ottawa County:

This record also listed many other persons, which one might expect for a hotel in which the "hotel keeper" lived. I cannot explain why Gregg's mother's birthplace was reported as Germany, as every other record indicates New York.

The 1900 Census (738:6B) reported the couple at Eastmanville Street, Coopersville village, Polktown Township, Ottawa County, Michigan. Greg Maxfield, born June 1844, was a hotel keeper. Elzora, his wife, was born March 1849.

The 1910 census (670:2A) reported the couple at Polkton Township, Ottawa County. Orin G. Maxfield, 65, had his "own income," Elzora, 61, had three children, all living. They had been married 39 years.

The 1920 census (792:10A) reported Orren G. Maxfield, 76, and his wife Elgora, 70, on Lincoln Street, Coopersville village, Polkton Township.

Orren Gregg Maxfield died at Michigan on 10 January 1929 (Maplewood Cem).

The 1930 census (1024:4A) reported Elzora Maxfield living with her divorced daughter Gerty Comstock at Polkton Township:
