EUGENE ALBERT7 MAXFIELD (Philo6, probably Henry5, David4, Eliphalet3, Nathaniel2, John1) was born at Ohio on April 1844 (1900 census; 1841/2 in 1910 census; 1842 in 1920 census; 1843/4 in 1850, 1860 censuses, 1844/5 in 1880 census), a child of Philo and Susanna Maxfield.

The 1860 census (996:357) reported Eugene Maxfield, age 16, attending school, living in the household of Louis and Emeline Roberts, at Madison Township, Lake County, Ohio.

Eugene Maxfield served in the Army in the Civil War for most of its duration (Civ War Sold) (There are two almost identical entries):

Eugene Maxfield married MARGARETTE M. HUTTON at Cuyahoga County, Ohio, on 19 May 1870 (Oh M).

Charles was son of Isaac. No other census records for this family make reference to New Hampshire.

The record also indicated that Eugene and Margaret had been married 30 years, and Margaret had six children, all living. The 1880 and 1900 censuses account for five children. The sixth may be Jessie, indicated by other researchers as part of this family.

The 1910 census (1166:1:278B) found Eugene and Margaret and their son Fred at 10801 Adeline Road, Cleveland, Ohio. According to this record, Eugene, age 68, with parents born in Scotland and England, had his own income, Margaret, age 39, had parents born in Scotland and Ireland, and Fred, 38, had no employment. Eugene and Margaret had been married 39 years. Margaret had 6 children, five of whom were living.

The 1920 census (1360:2A) reported Eugene, 77, Margaret, 67, and Fred H., 48, at the same address. Eugene's parents were born in Vermont and England. Fred was employed by Carlon Works at battery construction.

Margaret Maxfield may have died in 1920 (Sandie). Eugene Maxfield died at Cuyahoga County on 15 September 1922 (Oh D)
