ALBERT MINOR7 MAXFIELD (Minor6, probably Henry5, David4, Eliphalet3, Nathaniel2, John1 ) was born at New York on May 1836 (1900 census; 1824/5 on 1870 census; 1832/3 on 1880 census; 1834/5 on 1860 census), a child of Minor and Elvira Maxfield. Albert moved to Virginia with his family between 1845 and 1848.

Albert Minor Maxfield probably married MARY CATHERINE RHINE at Prince William County, Virginia, on 18 August 1857 (IGI). Mary was born at Virginia on February 1840 (1900 census; 1839/40 in 1860, 1870, 1880 censuses).

The 1860 census (1350:254) reported Albert Maxfield, 25, Mary C., 21, and daughter Sarah E., 1, at Hampshire County, Virginia (later part of West Virginia).

In 1870 (1680:1:80A) this family resided at Stafford Store Post Office, Rock Hill Township, Stafford County, Virginia. The family consisted of Albert, 45, farmer, Mary C., 30, Albert V., 7, Maggie A., 4, and Orris M., 2. As Sarah is not mentioned, perhaps she died.

The 1880 census (1391:490B) reported the family at Stafford County as follows:

This record also indicated that Albert and Mary had been married 43 years, and Mary had eight children, of whom five were living.

I have no further information on Albert and Mary Maxfield.
