ORVIS MINOR8 MAXFIELD (Albert7, Minor6, probably Henry5, David4, Eliphalet3, Nathaniel2, John1) was born at Ohio about 1868. The various censuses report his birth date and place as follows:

Orvis Minor Maxfield was a child of Albert Minor Maxfield and his wife Mary Catherine Rhine.

Orvis Maxfield married ANNIE THOMAS about 1905/6 (1910 census). Annie was born at Virginia about 1887/8 (1910 census).

The 1910 census reported this family at Brick Haven, Alexandria County, Virginia:

The household also included a boarder, John Higgins. Minor and Annie had been married four years; she had one child, who was living. (Alexandria County, then including the city of Alexandria, later changed its name to Arlington County).

Annie Maxfield died sometime between 1914, when their last child was born, and 1920, when Orvis was reported as a widower in the census. Orvis Maxfield was reported twice in the 1920 census, first (1879:4B) at 12 Glebe Road, Arlington District, Alexandria County:

The census taker appears to have simply repeated the birth states of parents of Orvis for his children. Orvis Maxfield was also reported at Fort Myer Military Reservation, Alexandria County:
