ORVIS7 MAXFIELD (Minor6, probably Henry5, David4, Eliphalet3, Nathaniel2, John1) was born at New York about 1841/2 (1839/40 from death record and 1860 census), a child of Minor and Elvira Maxfield. Orvis moved with his family to Virginia between 1845 and 1848.

Orvis Maxfield married NANCY J. probably before 1867. Nancy was born at Virginia on August 1841 (1900 census; 1841/2 on 1870 census).

The Orvis Maxfield family was reported on the 1870 census (1673:1:447B) living at Nokesville Post Office, Occoquan Township, Prince William County, Virginia. The family consisted of Orvis, 28, farming, Nancy J., 28, and William E., 2.

Orvis Maxfield died at Prince William County on 11 June 1890 (Pr Wm D). The record indicates that Orvis Maxfield, age 50, son of E. and M. Maxfield, and husband of Nancy, died of consumption.

The 1900 census (1724:1:227) reported Nancy J. Maxfield living at Occoquan Township with her son "Milleton." Nancy was born August 1841, a widow, and she had seven children, four of whom were living.

  6. ALTON M.8 MAXFIELD b. at Virginia on 8 May 1879
  7. LYLE8 MAXFIELD
    • b. at Prince William County on 20 August 1885 (Pr Wm B)
