JOHN HENRY⁷ MAXFIELD was born at Genesee County, Michigan, on 10 July 1876 a son of Hiram Daniel Maxfield and his wife Henrietta Truax. He died at Hadley, Lapeer County, Michigan, on 27 January 1937. He married about 1904/5 KATHERYN SWEENEY. She was born at Hadley on 23 August 1885 and died at Goodrich, Genesee County, on 9 July 1981.

John Henry Maxfield and his wife Katheryn Sweeney had the following children:

2. DANIEL⁸ MAXFIELD b. at Michigan on 27 October 1907; d. at Lapeer, Lapeer Co., on 16 February 1985.
3. EMERY⁸ MAXFIELD b. at Hadley on 22 October 1914.
4. KATHRYN⁸ MAXFIELD b. at Goodrich on 20 June 1917; d. at Grayling, Crawford Co., MI, on 16 November 2011; m. at Ortonville, Oakland Co., on 21 March 1942 ORRA GEORGE SUTTON.
5. (stillborn)⁸ MAXFIELD b. and d. at Hadley on 7 April 1920.
