GEORGE HENRY7 MAXFIELD (Henry6, Nathan5, Currier4, Joshua3, Joseph2, John1) was born at Goshen, New Hampshire, on 13 June 1876 (VR NH B), a child of Henry Edgar Maxfield and his wife Celeste Carr.

George Henry Maxfield was a medical doctor. In 1897 he was the third assistant doctor at the New Hampshire State Hospital, Concord, New Hampshire (F). He attended Harvard Medical School, Cambridge, Massachusetts, 1899-1903, and received his medical doctorate in 1903 (F). The 1900 Census (666:1B) reported him to be an officer at the State Hospital, Tewksbury, Massachusetts. He was still a student at the time, studying at harvard Medical School, from which he received the M.D. degree in 1903 (F). The 1910 census (627:2:23A) reported him at the Boston State Hospital, as First Assistant Physician.

George Henry Maxfield married HELENA MARIE GARDE at Somerville, Massachusetts, on 14 December 1910 (VR Ma 595:711:836), recorded as follows:

In 1913 George Henry Maxfield was a physician at the Soldiers' Home in Chelsea, Massachusetts (F). The 1920 Census (743:1A) reported this family at the Soldiers' Home at Chelsea:
