FREDERICK GLENMORE8 MAXFIELD (Gilbert7, John6, William5, David4, Eliphalet3, Nathaniel2, John1) was born at Sycamore, DeKalb County, Illinois, on 18 October 1855, a child of Gilbert Allen Maxfield and his wife Sarah Elvira Crocker.

Frederick Maxfield married MARY MARIAH COOK at Sycamore on 4 April 1877 (IL M). Mary was born at Monkton, Vermont, on 2 July 1858 (Elmwood Cem, Max Maxfield).

The 1880 census reported this family at Sycamore, consisting of Fred G. Maxfield, 24, farmer, Minnie, 21, wife, Glenmore, 2, son, and a farm laborer (Mike Maxfield). The 1900 census (8x:19:4:3) reported this family at Sycamore Township:

This record also reported that Fred and Mary had been married 23 years, and Mary had given birth to six children, five of whom were living. Mary M. (Cook) Maxfield died in 1901 (Elmwood Cem). Frederick Glenmore Maxfield married as his second wife MARY H. HOOKER at Toledo, Tama County, Iowa, on 16 October 1902 (IA M). This Mary was born at Malta, DeKalb County, Illinois, on 29 December 1867 (IL D FS), to James and Elizabeth Hooker.

The 1910 census (285:5A) reported this blended family at Sycamore:

This record also indicated that Mary had been married eight years, and had two children, one living.

The 1920 census (303:4A) reported the family at 122 North Cross Street, Sycamore. The family then consisted of Fred G., 64, Mary H., 52, daughter Hetty H., 14, and mother-in-law Elizabeth A. Hooker, 74. The 1930 census (572:11A) reported Fred and Mary living with daughter Jane at 425 Jilson Avenue, Rockford, Winnebago County, Illinois:

This record also indicated that Raymond was a veteran of the World War, Raymond and Jane were 26 and 25 respectively at marriage, Fred and Mary were 21 and 34 respectively at the time of their first marriage.

Frederick G. Maxfield died at Rockford on 19 September 1930 (Elmwood Cem). He had been a farmer and a Methodist (Max Maxfield). His widow Mary died at Rockford on 30 November 1944 (Elmwood Cem, IL D)
