The 1880 census (393:164A) reported Andrew and Mary Maxfield at Deer Creek, Phillips County, Kansas, immediately after the Leander Maxfield family. Andrew, 25, worked on the railroad; Mary, 18, was housekeeper. They had gotten married during the census year. With them lived Rosy Hudson, age 6.
The 1900 Census (883:17A) reported this family, which the census taker called by the name of Maxwell, at Madison Township, Polk County, Missouri:

Based on the birth places and dates of the children, we can deduce that the family moved from Kansas to Missouri some time between March 1882 and April 1886.
