Descendants of John Maxfield
of Salisbury, Massachusetts
Eighth Generation

ANDREW8 MAXFIELD (Albert7, James6, William5, David4, Eliphalet3, Nathaniel2, John1) was born at Illinois about 1855 (1920 census), a child of Albert Fletcher Maxfield and his wife Esther Cook.

Andrew Maxfield married MARY L. HUDSON at Phillips County, Kansas, on 15 February 1880 (Phillips Co M). Mary was born at Ohio about 1862 (1920 census).

The 1880 census (393:164A) reported Andrew and Mary Maxfield at Deer Creek, Phillips County, Kansas, immediately after the Leander Maxfield family. Andrew, 25, worked on the railroad; Mary, 18, was housekeeper. They had gotten married during the census year. With them lived Rosy Hudson, age 6.

The 1900 Census (883:17A) reported this family, which the census taker called by the name of Maxwell, at Madison Township, Polk County, Missouri:

This record further stated that Andrew and Mary had been married 20 years, and Mary had given birth to six children, four of whom were living. Based on the birth places and dates of the children, we can deduce that the family moved from Kansas to Missouri some time between March 1882 and April 1886.

The 1910 census (798:4A) reported this family at the same Township:

Iva was the wife of son Miley, and Clara Belle was their daughter. This record also stated that Andrew and Mary had been married 30 years, and Mary had six children, four living. Iva had been married three years and had two children, one living.

The 1920 census (556:10B) found this family at 2112 North Fourth Street, Kansas City, Kansas:
