HARLAND HEMAN8 MAXFIELD (Heman7, Sanford6, probably Henry5, David4, Eliphalet3, Nathaniel2, John1) was born at Barre, Vermont, on 6 March 1887 (WWI Draft), a child of Heman and Lucana Maxfield.

Harland H. Maxfield married LAURA KIDDER about 1910 (1930 census). Laura was born at Vermont about 1889 (1920 census).

Harland Maxfield reported for draft registration at Washington County, Vermont, on 5 June 1917:

Harland then served in the Army in the first World War (VT WWI):

The 1920 census (206:10B) reported Harland and Laura lodging at the residence of George Simpson, 2030 South First Street, Washington, DC. Harland H. Maxfield, 32, was a building carpenter, Laura Maxfield, 30, was a clerk for the government. Their son Morris was back in Vermont with Harland's parents.

The 1930 census (2431:) found the family together again, at 57 Elm Street, Barre, Vermont:

Harland and Laura were married at the ages of 23 and 20 respectively, and Harland was a veteran of the World War.

Laura K. Maxfield died sometime before 10 March 1953, when Washington County Probate Records first mentioned her. (Wash Co Pr 134:25). A list of creditors of Laura K. Maxfield of Barre on that date tallied her debts at $167.96. On 4 May, Harland H. Maxfield, widower of Laura K. Maxfield of Barre, was assigned property valued at $3,653.76 (Wash Co Pr 134:574).

Harland Heman Maxfield died on April 1969 (SSDI)

Harland Heman Maxfield and his wife Laura Kidder had the following child:

  1. MORRIS H.9 MAXFIELD b. at Barre on 21 July 1911
