LUCIEN MOSES8 MAXFIELD (Moses7, James6, Eliphalet5-4-3, Nathaniel2, John1) was born at Pittsfield, Somerset County, Maine, on May 1860 (Pierson; year in NMGR 8:20; May 1851 in Washington in 1900 census), a child of Moses Maxfield and his wife Asenath Smith.

Lucien Moses Maxfield of Corral, Idaho, and HARRIETTE AMY McMULLEN of Bellevue, Idaho, were married at Bellevue, Alturas County, Idaho, on 29 August 1886 (Western M; Pierson). Harriette was born in Washington state on February 1867 (1900 census; 1866 Washington in 1920 census). Lucien Moses Maxfield served in the Spanish-American War (1930 census).

The 1900 Census (232:1:170A) reported the following family at Centerville Precinct, Boise County, Idaho:

This record also indicated that Lucien and Amy had been married 13 years, and that Amy had three children, all living. An ink blot obscures Lucien's occupation. The record presents other problems. Lucien's birth information does not agree with other records, and their second child is listed as a male daughter.

The 1910 Census (222:8A) reported the family at Idaho City Road, Placerville, Boise County, Idaho:

This record indicated that Lucien was marriad at the age of 26, and he was a veteran of the Spanish-American War.
