MOSES7 MAXFIELD (James7, Eliphalet5-4-3, Nathaniel2, John1) was born at Mount Vernon, Kennebec County, Maine, on 30 October 1826 (NMGR 8:20), a child of James Quimby Maxfield and his first wife Betsy Butler.

The 1850 Census (MD 145) reported Moses Maxfield, age 21, born in Maine, resident in a sailors' home in Baltimore, Maryland. Elsewhere, this same census (268:50) reported Moses Maxfield, age 23, miller, living in the household of Sarah Dyer at Skowhegan, Maine. Moses Maxfield married ASENATH ALLEN SMITH at Skowhegan, Maine, on 3 November 1850 (D. Pierson). Asenath was born at Plymouth, Penobscot County, Maine, in December 1833 (D. Pierson).

The 1860 Census (452:) reported this family at Pittsfield Town (Canaan Post Office), Somerset County, Maine:

In the 1900 Census (232:1:243) Moses Maxfield was reported living in Emmett District, Idaho, born at Maine in October 1826, farmer. Asenath, his wife, was born December 1833. Daughter Alma, born February 1874, was living with her parents. Moses and Asenath had been married 50 years. She had eight children, of whom seven were living.

Asenath Maxfield died at Boise, Idaho, on 6 October 1904 (D Pierson), and was buried on 9 October at Pioneer Cemetery. Moses Maxfield died there on 6 November 1918 (Id D), and was buried in the same cemetery on 8 November.

Moses and Asenath Maxfield had the following children:
