EZRA KEMPTON8 MAXFIELD, M.D. (Horace7, James6, Eliphalet5-4-3, Nathaniel2, John1) was born in Maine on 23 April 1881 (rootsweb. Mt Hope Cem; yr in NMGR 8:20; 1885 Maine in 1920 census), a child of Horace Benjamin Maxfield and his wife Laverne Kempton.

The 1910 Census (146:1:222A) reported Ezra K. Maxfield, age 28, single, at Newark, New Castle County, Delaware, where he was teaching at a college.

Ezra K. Maxfield married JANE ERNISSE CROW about 1912 (full name from rootsweb. Mt Hope Cem; year from 1930 census). Jane was born in Maryland (1920 census) on 11 March 1882 (rootsweb. Mt Hope Cem.).

Ezra K. Maxfield registered for the draft at Middlesex County, Massachusetts, on 12 September 1918, reporting the following (WWI Draft):

The 1920 census (1121:8A) reported Ezra, Jane, and their son David living with her mother, Susan A. Crow, at Birch Crescent, Rochester, New York. Susan was a widow, age 63. Ezra, age 34, was a teacher at a college. Jane was also 34, and their son David K. Maxfield was 6.

The 1930 Census reported this family at 311 West Bean Street, East Washington, Washington County, Pennsylvania:

Ezra and Jane Maxfield had the following children:
