Not long after that census, about 1900/1, Harvey married CARRIE BELL, who was born at Kansas about 1880 (census records).

The following decade brought much change. In 1930 Harvey appeared in Texas, with a new wife, and Carrie was resident in a hospital for the insane in Texas. Evidently they moved and divorced. Harvey was reported (2340:) at Cook Settlement, Hardin County, Texas:

Harvey was first married at age 29, Katie at age 24, so it was probably a second marriage for both. So we believe that Harvey Maxfield married as his second wife KATIE B. ________ before 1930. She was born at Kentucky about 1878/9 (1930 census).
Meanwhile, Carrie was reported in 1930 (2307:) at the Rusk State Hospital for the Insane, Rusk, Cherokee County, Texas:

Harvey E. Maxfield died at Silsbee, Hardin County, Texas, on 14 December 1948 (TX D). Carrie Maxfield died at the Rusk State Hospital, Rusk, Cherokee County, Texas (TX D). Her death was brought on by a fall in her hospital room. She had involutional melancholia and psychosis for 28 years.
