LEROY9 MAXFIELD (Jeremiah8, John7, Nathaniel6, Eliphalet5, Nathaniel4, Eliphalet3, Nathaniel2, John1) was born at Illinois on 21 November 1876 (WWI Draft; state from census records), a child of Jeremiah Winter Maxfield and his wife Elizabeth A. Thompson.

Leroy Maxfield married ZADIE about 1902 (1910, 1930 censuses). Zadie was born at Michigan about 1876 (1920 census).

The 1910 Census (119:2:275B) reported this family on Main Street, Fruitmere Precinct, Fremont County, Colorado. The family consisted of Leroy, 33, his wife Zadie, 33, and son John S., 5. This was the first marriage for both; they had been married eight years. Zadie and son John were born at Michigan. Leroy was a fruit farmer.

When Leroy registered for the draft (WWI Draft) at Fremont County on 12 July 1918, he reported the following:

fireman, Ark. Valley Ry Lgt + P Co., No Main St., Canon City

The 1920 census (164:8A) reported LeRoy and Zadie, both age 43, on East Main Street, Precinct 33, Fremont County. LeRoy was a fireman for the power company. The 1930 census (241:) reported LeRoy and Zadie, both age 53, on Main Street, Four Mile Precinct, Fremont County. LeRoy was a fireman for a power plant.

Leroy and Zadie Maxfield had the following child:
