SAMUEL HAYWOOD9 MAXFIELD was born at Bangor, Penobscot County, Maine, on 18 August 1901 a son of George Asa Maxfield and his wife Ida Estella Olmstead. He died on 16 June 1945. He married before 1920 EDITH McGOVERN. She was born at Portland, Cumberland County, Maine, about 1901/2. She married second at Maine on 24 July 1926 MINTON M. MONTGOMERY.

Samuel Haywood Maxfield and his wife Edith McGovern had the following children:

  1. JAMES HAYWARD10 MAXFIELD b. at Portland on 20 November 1920.
  2. SAMUEL HAYWARD10 MAXFIELD b. at Maine on 22 March 1923; d. at Lynn, Essex Co., MA, on 22 June 2003; m. at Kingston, Rockingham Co., NH, on 23 June 1951 FAITH F. PARMA.
