HOWARD PEARL10 MAXFIELD (Pearl9, Frank8, Lyman7, Gilbert6, William5, David4, probably Eliphalet3, Nathaniel2, John1) was born at Alburg, Vermont, on 1 October 1913 (VT B), a child of Pearl Alexander Maxfield and his wife Grace Mott. When Howard was two years old, his father died, after which he grew up, with his mother and sister, in the home of his aunt and uncle, Joseph and Winifred Woodruff, at Hartford, Connecticut (census records). Howard enlisted in the Army at Fort Devans, Massachusetts, on 7 February 1942, and served in World War II until 5 October 1945 (WWII Enl; BIRLS). His enlistemnt record noted that he was from Hartford, Connecticut, single, had completed two years of High School, was 70" tall and weighed 164 pounds.

Howard P. Maxfield married FRANCES DELUCO, who was born on 7 October 1924 (SSDI). They lvied at Newington, Connecticut. Howard worked as an insurance underwriter for Industrial Risk Insurance of Hartford, Connecticut.

Howard Maxfield died at Hartford on 19 April 1988 (CT D; SSDI). Frances died at Connecticut on 23 April 2011 (SSDI; Hartford Cour 26 Apr 2011). Her obituary in the Hartford Courant reported more information on her life:

Frances D. MAXFIELD
MAXFIELD, Frances D. Frances D. Maxfield, 86, of Newington, former wife of the late Howard P. Maxfield, passed away on Saturday (April 23, 2011). She is survived by her son Skip Maxfield and wife Deborah Maxfield of Glastonbury, her son James T. Maxfield of Newington; and three cherished grandchildren, Harrison, Alexander and Amanda Maxfield of Glastonbury. In addition, she leaves a brother Joseph Deluco of Rocky Hill. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She will be missed dearly by family and friends. There will be a Funeral Service Thursday, (April 28, 2011) 10 a.m. at the Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm Street and Rocky Hill. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. . . .
