PEARL ALEXANDER9 MAXFIELD (Frank8, Lyman7, Gilbert6, William5, David4, probably Eliphalet3, Nathaniel2, John1) was born at Georgia, Vermont, on 9 March 1886 (VR Georgia 190), a child of Frank Miner Maxfield and his wife Mary Ann Smith. Pearl was baptized at the Episcopal Church of Georgia on 12 October 1890, with his older brother and sister, William and Flora (VR Georgia 190).

Pearl Maxfield appeared in the 1900 and 1910 censuses with his parents, on the later census he was reported as a brakeman for the railroad. He was also reported in 1910 (1615:11A) as a boarder in a home at Alberg, Grand Isle County, Vermont.

Pearl Alexander Maxfield married GRACE M. MOTT at Alburg on 26 August 1911 (VT M). Grace, age 21 at marriage, was born at Alburg to George M. Mott, also born at Alburg, and his wife Mary Story.

Pearl Alexander Maxfield died at Georgia, vermont, on 28 July 1915, from diabetis (VT D). He was a railroad conductor.

The 1920 Census (182:4A) reported Grace Maxfield and her children living with relatives at Hartford, Connecticut :

Grace and her two children were still with the Woodruffs at Hartford in the 1930 census (263:). Grace, 39, was married at 20, and in 1930 was a gold roller for a gold leaf company. Winifred Woodruff and Howard Maxfield, age 16, had the same employment. Ruth, 18, was a clerk for an insurance company. Joseph Woodruff worked a drill press.

Pearl Alexander Maxfield and his wife Grace Mott had the following children:

Ruth (Maxfield) McMahon, 92, of East Hartford, died Tuesday (February 10, 2004) at Wethersfield Healthcare. She was born in Alburg, VT, the daughter of Pearl and Grace (Mott) Maxfield and lived most of her life in Hartford. She leaves a son, John M. "Jackie" McMahon of Rocky Hill; a daughter, Ruth Silverstein of Escondido, CA; a sister-in-law, Catherine Cheffetz of Rocky Hill. . . . Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. . . .
