Raymond served in the Navy towards the end of the First World War and afterwards, from 23 May 1918 to 30 September 1921 (BIRLS).
Raymond Lester Maxfield married MARGARET FRANCES SPAFFORD at Chicago on 6 October 1922. Margaret was born at Illinois on 2 December 1899 (CA D; SSDI).
