BYRON PASCAL9 MAXFIELD (Gilbert8, Pascal7, William6-5, David4, probably Eliphalet3, Nathaniel2, John1) was born at Vermont on October 1859 (1900 census), a child of Gilbert B. and Caroline Elizabeth Maxfield. Byron moved with his family to Wisconsin. The 1880 census (1429:151C) reported him at Mineral Point, Iowa County, Wisconsin, in the household of Jay and Mary A. Layter, where he was a farm laborer/servant.

Byron Pascal Maxfield married IDA MAY MURPHY at Cook County, Illinois, on 11 January 1888 (IL M). Ida May was born at Chicago, Illinois, on 14 December 1869 (IL D).

This family lived at Chicago, where the 1900 census (283:16A) found them, at 5948 Parness Avenue. The family consisted of Byron, born at Vermont on October 1859, wife Ida M., born at Illinois on December 1869, daughter Ethel B., born at Illinois on August 1890, son Raymond L., born at Illinois on February 1897, and son Harold D., born at Illinois on May 1899.

The 1910 census (277:4B) reported the family at 5960 Stewart Avenua, Chicago, consisting of Byron, 50, driver of a grocery wagon, Ida M., wife, 40, sons Raymond, 13 and Harold, 10, and daughter Dorothy, 5.

The 1920 census (350:6A) reported this family at 839 65th Street:

Byron Maxfield died at Chicago on 27 September 1927 (IL D). Ida May Maxfield died at Chicago on 5 April 1928 (IL D).
