Don married BENNIE PEARL BARNES probably some time before 1938. She was born on 8 October 1906 (SSDI).

Don Edwin Maxfield served in the Army in World War II, enlisting on 13 December 1943, and being discharged on 6 April 1946 (BIRLS). His enlistment record indicated that he was born at Iowa, resided at Harris County, Texas, had a grammar school education, and was married (WWII Enl).

Don Edwin Maxfield died at Harris County, Texas, on 15 June, 1979 (TX D). His wife, Bennie Pearl, died at Harris County, Texas, on 4 October 1989 (TX D).
