JOHN ADAMS⁸ MAXFIELD was born at Barnstead, New Hampshire, on 23 March 1904 a son of Austin Charles Maxfield and his second wife Margaret Dickey. He died on September 1968. He married first at Lake County, Indiana, on 11 February 1924 DORIS E. SEWARD. She was born at Alton, New Hampshire, on 19 February 1904 and died at Barnstead on 22 September 1940. He married second at Chichester, New Hampshire, on 27 November 1940 ALICE MAY (HARKING) DICKEY. She was born at Fall River, Massachusetts, on 17 May 1901 and died on 28 October 1996.

John Adams Maxfield and his first wife Doris E. Seward had the following children:
