Descendants of John Maxfield
of Salisbury, Massachusetts
Eighth Generation

BERTIN8 MAXFIELD (Charles7, Ira6, Obadiah5, David4, Eliphalet3, Nathaniel2, John1) was born at Minnesota about March 1880 (1880 census), a child of Charles W. and Fetina Maxfield.

Bertin was reported in the 1880 census only two months old, with his parents at Gray, Pipestone County, Minnesota. The 1900 Census for Charles and Fetina Maxfield gives the son born at that time the name of Mark T. Maxfield. He probably married before 1901. I do not know the identity of his wife; she was born at Illinois.

In 1910 Bertin's parents, living at Lawrence Township, Van Buren County, Michigan, had in their household a grandson, Perrie Wade, age seven, born at Illinois, parents born at Wisconsin and Minnesota. In the 1920 census Bertin's parents were at Chicago and had in their household two grandchildren, Perrie Maxfield, age 17, he and parents born at Illinois, a checker in a mail order house, and Blaine Maxfield, no age given, born at Illinois. These two grandchildren of Charles and Fetina are probably children of Bertin. I have no further information on Bertin.

Bertin Maxfield probably had the following children:

  1. probably PIRIE9 MAXFIELD b. at Illinois on 8 August 1902.
  2. probably BLAINE9 MAXFIELD
    • b. at Illinois about 1911 (1920 census)
