HERBERT NATHAN7 MAXFIELD was born at Monona, Clayton County, Iowa, on 7 October 1868 a son of John B. Maxfield, Jr., and his wife Sarah Ingalls. He died at Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa, on 27 December 1937. He married at New Hampton, Chickasaw County, Iowa, on 26 August 1888 IDA B. WEST. She was born at Wauconda, Lake County, Illinois, on 30 March 1868 and died at Waterloo on 21 Janiary 1927.

Herbert Maxfield and his wife Ida West had the following children:

  1. HATTIE8 MAXFIELD b. on 1890; d. on 1890.
  2. HAZEL8 MAXFIELD b. at Chickasaw Co., on 13 March 1891; d. bef. 1910.
  3. EDWARD HERBERT8 MAXFIELD b. at New Hampton on 8 August 1893.
  4. JOHN EDWARD8 MAXFIELD b. at New Hampton on 8 December 1896.
  5. LEE ALFRED8 MAXFIELD b. at New Hampton on 8 April 1902.
  6. MARION W.8 MAXFIELD b. at New Hampton on 9 January 1907.
  7. LAWRENCE B.8 MAXFIELD b. at Iowa on 2 September 1908.
