CHARLES W.8 MAXFIELD (John7, Nathaniel6, Eliphalet5, Nathaniel4, Eliphalet3, Nathaniel2, John1) was born at Saxon, Stark County, Illinois, on 16 March 1848 (NMGR 7:92), a child of John Arnold Maxfield and his wife Jane Winter.

Charles Maxfield married SUSAN V.7 MAXFIELD (Nathaniel6, James5, Nathaniel4, Eliphalet3, Nathaniel2, John1) at Stark County on 26 September 1877 (IL M). Susan was born at Illinois about 1859 a child of Nathaniel and Deborah Maxfield.

The 1880 Census (756:188A) reported this three generation family at Blair, Washington County, Nebraska:

Susan Maxfield died on 6 February 1899 (IGI). The 1900 census (941:7A) reported Charles Maxfield, widower, born March 1847, and son Guy, single, born July 1891, at Fontanelle Township. Charles was a farmer; Guy, born at Nebraska, was at school.

Charles Maxfield died at Fontanelle, Washington County, Nebraska, on 16 May 1901 (NMGR 7:92).
